Apart from mosquito-borne diseases, waterborne illnesses have significantly impacted public health in Maharashtra this year. The highest number of cases in the past four years were reported in 2024, with an average of 11 people falling ill daily due to waterborne diseases. The health department has advised people to drink boiled water and avoid consuming ice-based products sold outside.
