The festival started with the Alankar Mahapuja and Ghatshapana followed by various religious events. The Goddess was traditionally mounted on the throne in the early morning. The Goddess was installed by District Collector Dr Sachin Ombase, who is also the chairman of the temple trust, at noon amid chanting of mantras and religious rituals.The Ghatkash was installed in the temple Gabhara and later at the Khandoba temple, Yayamidevi temple, Talbhairav and Adimaya Adishakti temples by Dr Ombase.Every year, lakhs of devotees not only from Maharashtra but from Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka come to Tuljapur to pay obeisance to goddess Tuljabhavani during the Navratri festival in large numbers. Hence, the temple management and the district administration have provided all the facilities for the devotees. The administration has appealed that they should take the darshan of the Devi in a disciplined manner and follow the temple rules. A strict police deployment has been made in the temple and the vicinity.
