Mumbai's voter turnout in the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly Elections remained low, with the Mumbai City district recording just 51.27% - the lowest in the state. The Mumbai Suburban district fared slightly better, with a turnout of 55.10%.
In South Mumbai, voter participation varied across constituencies. Colaba, home to many of the city's wealthiest residents, recorded one of the lowest turnouts in the state at only 44.49%, though it was a modest improvement over 2019's 40%. Malabar Hill, a prominent constituency with six-term MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha, saw just 52.53% participation.
Other constituencies, such as Mahim where a threeway battle was underway between MNS's Amit Thackeray, Shiv Sena's Sada Sarvankar, and Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Mahesh Sawant - had the highest turnout in the city with 58%. Worli, despite a high-profile contest between Shiv Sena (UBT)'s Aaditya Thackeray and Shiv Sena's Milind Deora, recorded only 47.50%.
