The BJP on Monday launched its nationwide membership drive Parva, "Sanghatan "Sanghatan Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024" with prime minister Narendra Modi getting his membership of the party renewed by president JP Nadda. Through the 51-day, it is aiming to enrol 10 crore new voters to its ranks.
EVERY 5 TO 6 YEARS
The membership drive is undertaken by the party every 5-6 years. Following the formation of the first government under Modi, the membership drive was undertaken in 2014-15 when Amit Shah was party president. Around 11 crore people had joined the party. Then 7 crore members had joined during the drive in July-August 2019.
Besides expanding the members, BJP, which claims to be the largest political party in the world, would be seeking to use the exercise for reinforcing its organisational structure.

MHADA's Konkan Board gets 4,420 applications till Nov 7
The Konkan Housing and Area Development Board, a regional unit of MHADA, has received 4,420 applications for housing lottery till November 7, while 1,313 people have paid the required earnest money deposit (EMD) for the registration and application process for the sale of 12,626 housing units on October 11.
