A policeman attached to the Mormugao police station and his family have been booked for charges of assaulting a Traffic Cell ASI at Banastarim on Wednesday.
The accused policeman, Rajat Adpaikar, was later placed under suspension in this connection. Adpaikar has made a counter allegation that the Traffic Cell ASI Vivek Phadte had first assaulted him.
The incident took place when ASI Vivek Phadte of the Traffic Police Cell was on duty at Banastarim.
