While religious festivals have traditionally been occasions for spiritual reflection, community bonding, and cultural expression, the increasing involvement of politics in these celebrations has distorted their original purpose, creating divisions and fostering a climate of intolerance. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE OF RELIGIOUS FESTIVALS

Religious festivals in India, such as Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Holi, and Durga Puja, have long been occasions to celebrate cultural heritage and communal harmony. They provide a platform for people from different walks of life to come together, transcending barriers of caste, class, and even religion. These festivals, rooted in spiritual and moral values, have traditionally served as a unifying force, offering moments of joy, charity, and peace.
