Taking a dig at the Shiv Sena (UBT) which had parted ways with the BJP after the 2019 Assembly polls and joined hands with the Congress to form the first Maha Vikas Aghadi government, Modi said, "People have also defeated politics of lies and deceit. This is a defeat for negative politics and 'parivarvaad' (nepotism)."

The PM said, "Maharashtra has strengthened the resolve for a "Viksit Bharat" (developed India). This is a historic verdict and a stamp on BJP's governance model and we will leave no stone unturned to keep people's faith in us intact. BJP alone has got more seats than the Congress and its allies. This shows that when it comes to good governance, the nation only trusts BJP and the NDA," he said.

The PM also mentioned how the BJP and its allies have done well in the by-elections in other states. "This shows that people want development across the country."

He also thanked the youth, farmers and women of Maharashtra for reposing their faith in the Mahayuti and also thanked the people of Jharkhand, where the BJP lost, saying, "for speedy development of the state we will work even harder."

Coming back to Maharashtra, the PM, while speaking in Marathi, said that for the BJP, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Shahuji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Savitri Phule, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar and Balasaheb Thackeray remain revered figures. He said the party also believes in the social justice model of Ambedkar and Phule.
