As per media reports, Rohit has communicated his inability to make it to the first Test to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
He has reportedly informed BCCI officials that he wants to spend time with his family and newly-born baby.
The first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Optus Stadium in Perth will be played from November 22.
