State's 1st alcohol-detection dog uncovers case in Rajkot

In a major breakthrough for Gujarat's strict prohibition laws, the state police have introduced an alcohol-detection dog named Adrev, trained to sniff out concealed liquor.

Recently, Adrev played a pivotal role in discovering alcohol stored in a residence in Dhebar Colony, Rajkot, marking the first-ever case of alcohol detection led by a canine in Gujarat.

Adrev underwent nine months of rigorous training at the Naroda-based Dog Training School under the guidance of Colonel Chandansinh Rathore, Senior Dog Training Consultant, and State Police Chief Mr. Vikas Sahai. The training aimed to equip Adrev with the ability to detect even the faintest traces of alcohol, assisting law enforcement in the fight against illegal liquor storage and distribution.
