Suresh Gopi calls Mrs G 'mother of India'

Addressing the media in Thrissur, he described former prime minister Indira Gandhi as the "mother of India" and late Chief Minister K Karunakaran as the father of the Congress in Kerala and a "courageous administrator". Gopi was speaking to reporters after visiting the memorial of Karunakaran at Punkunnam in Thrissur.

Interestingly, Suresh Gopi had won Thrissur Lok Sabha constituency by trouncing Karunakaran's son and Congress leader K Muraleedharan who finished third in a triangular contest in the April 26 polls.
