This ceremonial event marks a significant prelude to the Jamboo Savari, which will commence on Vijayadashami Day, October 13. The puja is an essential tradition, honouring the historic cannons and preparing them for their role in the grand procession.
As part of the Dasara celebrations, 14 elephants, which have recently arrived and are currently stationed at Mysuru Palace, will be involved in the Jamboo Savari. These elephants specialised training to acclimatise to the loud sounds of cannon fire, which is an integral aspect of the celebrations. This training ensures that both the elephants and their handlers are well-prepared for the grandeur of the event.
