Will not abandon secular values: Ajit

"I am firmly committed to the path of Chhatrapati Shahu, Mahatma Phule, and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and will never abandon my secular ideology, even if I join an alliance with divergent views," said Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Ajit Pawar at a public meeting in Baramati.

This statement comes amid speculation that Ajit Pawar's alliance partner, the BJP, may be inclined to dwell on its Hindutva agenda ahead of the Maharashtra assembly election campaign.

Addressing an audience of various professional associations in Baramati, Ajit Pawar emphasised his commitment to representing people from diverse social and community backgrounds and focusing on the development of his constituency. "You all know my track record. I may have made certain political decisions in the past, but that does not mean I have changed my ideology. I believe in secular values.
