The final episode of the BBC sitcom drew in an average of 12.3 million viewers on Wednesday, according to overnight viewing figures, which do not include views racked up on catch-up services during the rest of the festive period. The 2019 Gavin & Stacey special drew in 11.6 million viewers on Christmas Day.
The new Wallace & Gromit film, Vengeance Most Fowl, drew in 9.38 million viewers. After Gavin & Stacey, it was the most-watched broadcast since King Charles made his first address to the nation as monarch in 2022.
