PLYMOUTH poet Anthony Caleshu's new collection has been called "a huge holiday of a book" and if you have an evening off you can put your feet up and listen to him read from it at the city's Central Library.
Anthony, professor of poetry at the University of Plymouth, is launching Xenia etc at a Cross Country Writers special event on Wednesday, April 26, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
He will read from the collection, brought to you by top poetry publisher Shearsman Books, with three other leading Plymouth poets in support: Rachel Gippetti, Steve Spence and Benjamin Brake.
Such readings, free to attend and open to the public, are being held quarterly at the library on the corner of Armada Way and Mayflower Street.
Kenny Knight, CrossCountry Writers' founder, said they were a departure from the regular open mic nights he has organised.
He said: "I started them because I wanted somewhere central to highlight writers, give them a platform and have them read for a bit longer than at an open mic."
Anthony is already the author of three collections of poetry and three books of criticism on contemporary poetry.
