LIKE hundreds of other people, I was asked to leave my home in Keyham after a suspected unexploded World War Two bomb was found in a nearby garden. Okay, not an uncommon event in Plymouth, particularly over in the western side of the city. After fulfilling my journalistic duty by taking some pictures of the four police cars, which were there at 11.30am, I popped home and carried on with my day.
In the three hours after police were called to St Michael Avenue, I watched as more and more police cars sped down my street, and the officers remained closer and closer to my house until the inevitable happened. The knock on the door from an officer who said a suspected bomb had been discovered and they were carrying out evacuations.
"Do you have somewhere to stay?" The officer asked. I nodded and asked when do they think we would be able to come back.
