A SCHOOL with a high percentage of its pupils coming from disadvantaged backgrounds is celebrating its results in national education tests.
Pupils at Marine Academy Primary in Plymouth, part of the Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust , sat their Key Stage Two National Curriculum SAT tests earlier in the year, and the verified results have just been released.
It is a double celebration at Marine Academy, as this year is the school’s 10th birthday and staff are delighted with the SATs results achieved by the children, with:
■ 97% of children achieving the expected standard in reading;
■ 80% of children achieving the expected standard in reading, writing and maths (which is above the national percentage of 59%);
