A PLYMOUTH automotive adventurer and his intrepid team are waiting to find out if they have set a new world record for the highest pint ever pulled, after completing a mission to South America.
Ben Coombs runs a tour guide company for motoring enthusiasts, often taking classic cars across Europe, when he is not tinkering with his own vehicles at his North Hill home.
Ben has been featured by the BBC's Top Gear programme after spending the last 15 years plotting and taking part in various road trips, which have seen him traverse more than 80 countries and clock up over 100,000 miles.
The 44-year-old's latest adventure started with the idea of getting a classic Mini to the highest point possible, which he calculated as being a road up the world's highest volcano, the 6,893 metre-high Ojos del Salado, in Chile's Atacama Desert.
The idea gained traction when Ben gained the support of Connor Johnson, who runs Bulletproof Brewing on Mutley Plain.
