A TEENAGE girl bravely turned and faced her father's killers in court and told them of the agony she and her family had suffered, following his untimely death, saying she and her siblings held him as his life support was switched off and he passed away.
The emotional victim impact statement by the 17-year-old was heard clearly in the hushed courtroom three of Plymouth Crown Court during the sentencing hearing of Cowin FuocoFisher and James Caswell.
Fuoco-Fisher was sentenced to life for the dad-of-four's murder, with a minimum tariff of 16 years.
Caswell was sentenced to eight years for manslaughter, of which he would spend two-thirds before he could be released on licence, minus the time he spent on remand.
The brave teenager was escorted to the witness box last Friday by a Detective Constable, acting as a Family Lialson Officer for the family of Stefan Shotton, who died at Derriford Hospital on June 6 last year, a few days following the savage beating he suffered on May 28 in Devonport Road, Stoke.
