STRIKERS Ryan Hardie and Muhamed Tijani appear to be battling it out between them to lead the Plymouth Argyle attack in the Championship season-opener at Sheffield Wednesday.
Head coach Wayne Rooney adopted a 4-2-3-1 formation throughout pre-season with Tijani, the loan signing from Czech club Slavia Prague, starting four of the five warmup matches and netting twice in the 5-1 win away to Cheltenham Town.
However, Hardie scored a goal in each of the last four pre-season games, including in the 1-0 victory over MK Dons on Saturday, to press his claims for a start against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Sunday.
