Diner to reopen as a 'proper cafe'

PLYMOUTH'S famous Goodbody's is to reopen as a "proper cafe" with free giveaways in its opening week.

The reborn Goodbody's will be under a new owner but look exactly the same and serve its beloved "builders' breakfasts" and gigantic milkshakes.

Jordan Turfrey, who has made a success of two other city eateries, is relaunching the landmark Mutley Plain diner alongside his nephew Ben Soper. Mr Turfrey said Goodbody's had been closed for about five months but he has taken on the lease and it reopens on Friday, October 25 with a free cup of tea or coffee served in Goodbody's mugs with any menu purchase during the first week.
