Family's anguish over baffling disappearance

Desperate for clues to his whereabouts, the closeknit family say they cannot rest with his mysterious disappearance at the forefront of their minds.

They’ve been searching for answers or “just one little thing” that could give them an idea of what happened to Daniel Mizzi, who went missing on December 8, 2023.

His mum, 58-year-old Karran Minchinton, and Daniel’s younger brother, Jake Hughes, said they’ve hit a brick wall but will never give up hope of finding him.

Jake, 30, said: “Our hearts ache daily. If we’re being honest, we have no idea if he is alive or dead and not knowing is what hurts as your mind wanders to dark places when we think of him. We have had to go through Christmas, our step dad’s birthday, our mum’s birthday and Dan’s birthday without him.”

Karran said: “I will not grieve for him until I know what’s happened. I do think he’s still alive. I’m having endless night terrors and nightmares missing him, I never thought we’d be six months down the line with nothing. Everything in his room is left, waiting for him. We just need one little thing. Please, please Dan if you can, I’m begging you to call me. We just want to hug you. We love you and want you home.”

There have been no sightings of the now 36-year-old Daniel since he was spotted on CCTV at 1.38pm in St Ives, walking on the road by Porthmeor Beach. Daniel potentially headed towards the South West Coast Path, but there is no verification that he ever reached the path - or if he went elsewhere.
