IT'S one of Plymouth's most popular literary nights, held in one of the city's smallest pubs, and publicised with some of the most unusual artwork.
The first meeting this year of The Provi Poets takes place on Tuesday, February 6, from 7.45pm, providing a platform for many of the city's best poets and storytellers, and newcomers too.
Founder Spencer Shute is celebrating four years of Provi Poets nights and continues to attract a large crowd to the Providence pub in Greenback, partly through his eye-catching, sometimes goat-themed, posters.
His cut-and-paste montage images and humorous blurbs have become as famous and beloved as the busy and entertaining nights of poetry and prose.
Latest posters proclaim: "For the attention of a disgraced nation come by this establishment of a higher bar and witness the angels' performance"
