A PLYMOUTH special school has celebrated 60 years of supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Cann Bridge School in Estover, located on the Tor Bridge Partnership Site since 2012, celebrated its 60th anniversary on Wednesday, July 24.
First established in 1963 as Downham Training Centre and later known as Downham School in Plymstock, the school has a rich history of providing education to children and young people aged four to 19 years old.
The 60th anniversary celebration kicked off with the school's annual Summer Show, followed by a buffet lunch for students, staff, and their families.
The festivities continued on the school field, featuring a variety of entertainment and attended by the Lord Mayor of Plymouth, as well as friends and former staff of the school.
