HUNDREDS of Plymouth healthcare workers will finally receive a bonus payment of at least £1,655, after a Government U-turn.
The Department of Health and Social Care has announced a funding package for non-NHS organisations, including Plymouth's Livewell Southwest CIC, to pay the bonus agreed after this year's nurses' industrial dispute.
The Government will pay non-NHS organisations, such as charities and social enterprises, the cash to pay staff the bonus, although some workers are still left out.
Plymouth's Labour MP Luke Pollard said he was pleased "the Government has finally come to their senses".
