Hunt: Protests 'crossing the line'

INTIMIDATORY pro-Palestine protests against the war in Gaza have crossed a line, the Chancellor has said.

Jeremy Hunt said he had heard from Jewish people who were fearful to leave their homes during the demonstrations.

Jonathan Hall KC, the independent reviewer of counter-terrorism legislation, also said he had not seen "this level of open extremism" in Britain since being appointed in 2019. He told The Mail On Sunday: "It is the public brazenness of hate directed towards people by category, in particular Zionists, or Israelis, or Jews."

The UK is seen as a "legitimate target for terrorists" because it is allied with the United States and Israel, Mr Hall added.
