A MOTHER says her world has come "crashing down", after a tumour was found in her three-year-old son's spine.
Gemma Lee took Archie Lee to hospital for an MRI scan last Thursday, August 18, for suspected scoliosis. Just three days later, Gemma was in Bristol Royal Hospital for Children, waiting for her little boy as he was due to undergo a "huge operation" which was scheduled to take 12 hours.
Last Friday, August 19, the 34-year-old was on her way to stay with her sister and take a trip to Peppa Pig World with Archie and his nine-year-old brother, Alfie, when she received a worrying call.
Gemma, from Torpoint, was told to "divert immediately" to Bristol, so Archie could undergo an urgent operation which has some "potentially huge complications". The mum-of-two said she "never in a million years expected this outcome" and is now living at the hospital.
