McPhee is happy to set Parkway targets

ON a day when they badly needed a result, Plymouth Parkway turned on the style to thrash Marlow 5-0 in the Southern League Premier Division and boost their ambitions of climbing the table.

Victory did not take Chris McPhee's side out of the bottom four - and in all likelihood, neither would a win at Swindon Supermarine tomorrow - but it closed the gap on the teams above them. Losing to a Marlow side that arrived in town propping up the rest of the division was simply not an option.

Parkway followed that up with a win in the Devon St Lukes Challenge Cup on Wednesday night, a match that saw them reduced to ten men shortly before half-time when McPhee - a surprise starter at Silver Street - was adjudged to have elbowed a Willand player and shown a straight red card.

Parkway went on to win the tie on penalty kicks, but with a return to league action tomorrow, McPhee will be back on the touchline hoping for more of what he saw against Marlow last weekend.
