McPhee: We will turn things around

TUESDAY'S 2-1 defeat at home to high-flying AFC Totton may have made it ten games without a win for Plymouth Parkway in the Southern League Premier Division, but manager Chris Mc Phee remains firmly of the belief that his side will soon turn things round.

It was yet another case of 'What if?' for Parkway, who were again left with too much to do after shooting themselves in the foot by conceding two poor and soft first half goals.

Dylan Jones pulled one back early in the second half, but despite plenty of huff and puff, Parkway could not blow the Totton defence down again to leave them entrenched in the relegation zone and five points adrift of safety.

With a quarter of the season now played, the anxiety levels are rising at Bolitho Park ahead of tomorrow's trip to 14th-placed Chertsey Town. But not for Mc Phee, who retains utmost confidence and belief in his players and is adamant that fortunes will soon change.

"Absolutely," Mc Phee said. "The way that they have taken on board what we are asking them to do, the way they are able to implement it, the way they are able to adapt and change the way we want them to play - and when you take some play-ers out, the group is still strong.

"To be able to bring players off the bench to help us in different areas is good and the young players are doing fantastically well. I feel sorry for them that they are not getting the minutes that they need to develop, although I didn't think it was safe to bring them on in that game on Tuesday.
