MEDICAL staff in Plymouth are embarking on a 630-mile walking challenge over the next year – in order to fund the preservation of part of the South West Coast Path.
Staff from Practice Plus Group Hospital, Plymouth, previously known locally as the Peninsula Treatment centre, have chosen the South West Coast Path Association as their charity of the year.
They have chosen the collective distance as it represents the entire length of the coastal path, with a fundraising target of £1,500.
The funds raised will preserve a mile-long section of the route and earn the team a ‘mile maker’ accolade from the charity.
The hospital specialises in hip and knee replacements, as well as helping people who have been unable to walk, and offers NHS treatment as well as private options.
