You may have heard people say on occasions that there can only be one entertainer in a partnership or a family? I think each and every one of mine could have applied for and justifiably held an Equity card. As far as I know, I am the only one who does actually have one and strangely the member you're most likely to find sitting quietly in a corner at a family do.
Anyway, the occasion? My reaching my seventh decade! Now I... we...made the decision not to throw a party for the family on the actual date. Firstly, I am not a lover of hotel/restaurant functions. And I'm afraid my days of doing all the catering for 40 people, albeit with a little help, have long gone.
