MPs welcome new NHS dental practice in city

A "GAME-CHANGING" £4 million dental practice is scheduled to open in Plymouth city centre to treat thousands of NHS patients within 18 months.

Medical chiefs at the University of Plymouth's Peninsula Dental School. revealed details of the practice, which will deal with people in the most pain, during a visit by Health and Social Care Minister Helen Whately MP Professor Ewen McColl, head of the Peninsula Dental School, told the minister that a yet unnamed building close to Armada Way would be turned into practice where dental students will treat people who have not seen a dentist in ages. He told the minister: "It will be for patients to come in off the street.

Patients will treat them, get them out of pain and do some prevention work." Johnny Mercer, MP for Plymouth Moor View, said: "It will be a gamechanger a high street facility where people can have treatment. It will fundamentally change dentistry in Plymouth."
