After 10 years of trying for a child, Colleen Hapney welcomed her daughter, Phoebe-Grace in April 2018, thanks to IVF.
Now, another five years later, Colleen has given birth to twin brothers Perseus and Elijah after storing two other embryos.
Colleen, 30, and husband Pete, 33, had almost lost hope of having children due to fertility issues before PhoebeGrace was born.
Colleen said: “It’s been hard, heartbreaking and most of the time I didn’t believe that I would ever be here. But I am – it can happen, it can work, it took me 10 years of trying to conceive, but I’m now a mum to three amazing children and it’s a miracle.”
The couple went through eight rounds of IVF and Colleen suffered several miscarriages after deciding she wanted a baby at age 22.
At 24, Colleen was diagnosed with Polycystic ovary syndrome (POCS) and the couple were referred for fertility treatment, but couldn’t proceed through the NHS.
