The Hole in the Wall, in Bodmin, Cornwall, was named the best pub in the county in part due to its unique decor, CornwallLive reports.
But is has now lost the accolade after a complaint was made about "a swastika armband". The pub is known locally for its unique display of items, including a stuffed lion, ancient guns and a picture of Winston Churchill.
But the complaint over the armband saw the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) strip the pub of its award. Landlord Steve Hall says the display was "taken out of context completely".
He said: "This is really upsetting. I'm upset and annoyed about this and so are my staff. It has really tarnished my image when that piece of military memorabilia has been in the pub since it opened 80 years ago."
