A BRAVE Plymouth girl is fighting a fungal infection “with all her might” while in hospital receiving treatment for a “very rare” form of cancer.
Lacey Eden, 16, was told at the beginning of the year that she had mixed phenotype leukaemia. She was admitted to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children in February this year to start chemotherapy.
Mixed phenotype leukaemia is described as “a very rare type of leukaemia where more than one type of leukaemia occurs at the same time”.
Lacey has remained at the hospital since February, and has been receiving treatment for the last two months. The teenager also needs a bone marrow transplant.
