THE sun shone on Remembrance Day and with it came unexpected warmth in the air, a complete contrast to last year's event, writes Malcolm Bassett-Smith.
Recalling the victims of conflicts far and wide

This meant the troops, wrapped in their greatcoats, truly understood the meaning of being called 'old sweats' (experienced and long-serving). None felt it more than the standard bearers.

These gentlemen, most all well into pension age, braved all in keeping their end up and their flags flying.
