PILES of rubbish, green waste, cones, gas bottles and mounds of soil and hardcore have been left behind after Travellers finally quit a playing field in Plympton.
After ignoring a Notice to Quit a large group of Travellers who set up an unauthorised encampment on Chaddlewood playing field on the weekend of July 27, headed off on Thursday, leaving mounds of rubbish and even a sheered lamp-post in their wake. Their arrival left residents around Chaddlewood playing field, off Glen Road, fuming at the loss of the field right at the start of the school summer holidays.
