PREPARE to be told to shut up and sit down when the Karen's Diner tour comes to Plymouth this weekend. The unique experience is not exactly fine dining and staff say they will not leave until they have insulted everyone in the city.
The pop-up restaurant is opening inside The Custom House, on the Barbican, this Saturday and Sunday, after the touring brand's unique ill-mannered waiters and waitresses became a hit across the globe.
Karen's Diner was established in Sydney, Australia, in 2021 and now has restaurants up and down the country. This weekend, a pop-up tour will be heading to Plymouth to show the city some bad attitude. You'll be pleased to hear good food will be on offer, but that's about the only good thing you will experience. Customers can expect shoddy service, rude staff, sneering opinions of your culinary choices and a blunter-than-blunt retort to anything you dare express out loud.
