PLYMOUTH Argyle boss Steven Schumacher declared he was 'really proud' after winning the League One Manager-of-the-Season at the 2023 EFL Awards.
The 38-year-old has led the Pilgrims to the top of the table with three matches remaining this term, with a superb record of 28 wins and 92 points from 43 games.
All this in his first full season as a manager, after moving up from his role as the No 2 at Home Park after Ryan Lowe left to take over at Preston North End in December 2021.
Argyle narrowly missed out on a play-off place last season but they regrouped over the summer and have been at or very near the top of the table all campaign.
Schumacher beat off strong competition from Ipswich Town's Kieran McKenna and Darren Moore of Sheffield Wednesday to win the award at the star-studded ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in central London on Sunday night.
