AN elderly man has been bitten by a dog in Plymouth, with the animal’s owner fleeing the scene before police could arrive. The incident happened at Plymouth Market at around 1pm last Saturday.
The man sustained an injury to a leg. A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said he did not need medical treatment, and added that the male owner of the dog left the scene in the direction of Derry’s Cross.
Officers who attended the scene conducted an area search but the owner was not found. Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
