AN ambitious Plymouth teenager who launched her own nail studio at the age of 16 is making waves in the beauty industry as a fully booked self-employed nail technician.
Susie Gale not only is a young business owner, but she's also balancing her A-levels at Ivybridge Community College and is a talented rugby player.
The now 17-year-old, who is Ivybridge RFC's captain for the U18s team and previous county-level rugby player for Devon, specialises in nails and works around 30 hours a week on top of her school work.
It started in 2020, when Susie began teaching herself how to do nails by watching videos on social media. Susie has diligently honed her skills in the years since.
Susie said: "During lockdown, there were limited activities and job opportunities, particularly for someone my age at the time, which was 13. Finding myself with extra time, I decided to teach myself how to do nails whenever I wasn't at school or waitressing.
