PLYMOUTH’S award-winning arts centre The Box is closing in on the milestone of one million visitors – with figures showing it has welcomed more than 817,000 people since opening.
The museum, art gallery and archive opened in September 2020 with a mission to care for the city’s historic collections and tell its stories past and present.
New figures show that in the 2023-24 financial year, The Box welcomed 272,000 visitors – a 10% increase on the previous year and more than three times as many annual visitors as the former City Museum and Art Gallery.
