A MUSICAL version of The Lord of the Rings is coming to Plymouth and it will be the only place where you can see it in the UK.
The award-winning production will be at the Theatre Royal in autumn 2025 following criticallyacclaimed seasons in Chicago, Auckland and Australia.
The musical, described as a "unique theatrical interpretation of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic trilogy", is told from the Hobbits' perspective. It begins as the Hobbits celebrate Bilbo Baggins' eleventy-first birthday in the Shire, where he gifts his nephew Frodo his most precious belonging a gold ring.
The fateful moment launches Frodo on a perilous quest across Middle-earth to the darkest realms of Mordor - to vanquish evil with his loyal Fellowship.
