PLYMOUTH'S Labour MP Luke Pollard is backing a campaign to stop the closure of railway station ticket offices which he describes as a 'lifeline' for many passengers, as a consultation into proposals enters its final day.
Today is the final day for people to have their say on plans to phase out railway station front desks in Devon and Cornwall, in line with national plans.
However, there is also an online petition you can sign to get the matter debated in parliament.
The Herald, in partnership with its sister newspaper the Western Morning News, is campaigning to save our well-used station ticket windows and urges readers to take part in the national consultation.
Mr Pollard, MP for Sutton and Devonport, has written an article in today's Herald (on page 15) explaining his own views, and why is fighting 'tooth and nail' to save the ticket office in Plymouth, as well as others, from closure.
