'Absurd, recurring habit': Jaishankar debunks new map claim by Beijing

"It is an old habit of theirs. These (territories) are very much part of India. This government is very clear about what our territories are. Making absurd claims doesn't make others' territories yours," said Dr Jaishankar in Delhi on Tuesday.

The response came after China unveiled an updated map on Monday, which incorporated Aksai Chin, Arunachal Pradesh, Taiwan and disputed areas of South China Sea as its territories.

India has launched a strong protest with China on the issue.
