In view of last year's violence, tight security arrangements were in place with some 5,000 police personnel deployed in and around the area; internet services too were suspended by the Haryana government.
This year's Yatra, however, remained witness to scenes of communal harmony with Hindu and Muslim communities welcoming the procession at different points along its journey. Many muslim organization and village bodies provided refreshments to the devotees as they passed.
