A top Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist, who was involved in the October 20 attack on construction work site in Gagangir area of central Kashmir in which six workers and a doctor lost their lives, was killed in an encounter with security forces in Dachigam forest area in outskirts of Srinagar on Tuesday.

Acting on specific information about the presence of terrorists, a joint search operation was launched by police, Army and CRPF in the upper reaches of Dachigam forest area in outskirts of Srinagar on Monday evening, a police officer said.
