Of the three idols shortlisted, the Ramajanma Bhoomi Trust selected Yogiraj's work through voting, according to his family members here.
Yogiraj used a unique Krishna shila (stone) from Bujjegoudanapura village in HD Kote taluk of Mysuru district to sculpt the idol.
He hails from a family of sculptors in Mysuru and belongs to the fifth generation.
