This comes after Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra raised allegations against the actor-director of sexual misconduct.
She alleged that Ranjith intended to seek sexual favour from her during the audition of his 2009 film Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha. Following the revelations made by Mitra to a Malayalam news channel on Friday from Kolkata, pressure mounted on Ranjith. But he remained unfazed and moved into a resort in Wayanad and did not appear before the media. However, the LDF government was caught in a sticky wicket when they realised that the awardwinning actor-director was not going to step down from office.
