Supreme Court to hear ED petition challenging Soren's bail on Monday

THE Supreme Court is scheduled to hear on Monday, the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) appeal challenging the Jharkhand High Court's June 28 order granting bail to Chief Minister Hemant Soren, who was jailed in a money laundering case allegedly linked with a land scam case.

A two-judge bench led by Justice BR Gavai and also comprising Justice KV Viswanathan is scheduled to hear the probe agency's appeal on July 29.

On June 28, a single judge bench of the Jharkhand HC's Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay, while granting bail to Soren, directed him to be released on furnishing bail bonds and surety in the case.
