For the fourth consecutive day, benchmark indices ended in the red

INDIAN equity investors lost ₹ 5.76 lakh crore on Tuesday as stock markets continue to remain in tight bear grip. Benchmark indices - Nifty and Sensex - fell by over 1.5% from its intra-day peak, closing the day lower by over 1%. This is for the fourth consecutive day that benchmark indices ended in the red.
Indian equities were weighed down by policy uncertainties following Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential elections, and strengthening of the US dollar amid expectation of robust economic growth and aggressive trade policy under Trump.
